Interview SPP perguruan Pegawai Perkhidmatan Pendidikan DG41 2017

Interview SPP perguruan Pegawai Perkhidmatan Pendidikan DG41 2017 for TESL graduates

Assalamualaikum and good day to you! 
I believe that you might be nervous or a little "panic" while reading this post in preparation for the Pegawai Perkhidmatan Pendidikan DG41 (PPP DG41)'s interview. I will be sharing with you the interview experience of mine for Teaching as a Second Language (TESL) major field of study.

Kindly be informed that this post is long and please bear with me guys in reading my knowledge sharing  I am informing you that my sharing will be in mixed topic that will come in jumbled points  I will be updating this post from time to time too, whichever I think is appropriate and needed to be edited ✌thank you

It is 12.20 p.m. , Tuesday, September 12, 2017. I am writing this blog fresh to put as much input as I can from the interview. Good luck! 

Venue of interview: SPP building, Kompleks Jabatan Perdana Menteri (JPM), Putrajaya. (Free public parking is available along Laman Perdana that is situated next to JPM and it is nearer to the gate we interviewees should head in while RM1/hr parking is situated in front of the main gate of JPM. It is advised that you arrive before 8 a.m. to avoid traffic congestions)

Interview time: 9.30 a.m. (the security officer will not let the interviewees of session 10.30 a.m. and above to get in to avoid crowds)

Interview Date: 12/09/2017 ( I received an SMS on Saturday 11: 38 p.m. from SPP stated: "RM0.00 SPP: Sukacita dimaklumkan tuan/puan adalah dimohon untuk membuat semakan panggilan temu duga dengan segera di laman web www.spp.gov.my").

Before The Interview
- Check the SPP's website for your interview invitation.
- Print out the list of document and prepare the original and endorsed copies of your certificates.
- If you had involved in numerous co-curricular activities throughout your secondary and tertiary studies, kindly only chose three to four certificates to be photocopied. I photocopied almost all my 30+ certificates and believe me, the admin said to only take out the " Sijil Penghargaan" (That time I know that there's a difference between Sijil Penyertaan and Sijil Penghargaan. Sijil Penghargaan has a higher value in the government interviews) and other most significant certifications that you have. Seems like I wasted some pennies and time there in photocopying and arranging the certs' in order.
- Kindly clip temporarily (not staple) all your copied and endorsed certs together because the "admin" will later take only the relevant documents from you.

Interview Day
Interviewers:
Dr Mas*** & Puan K***** (not real name)

I was highly touched by the one-hour-and-a-half interview session. I love the experience and knowledge sharings of the interviewers during and after the interview and I love hearing ideas and answers  from the other candidates as well because personally I am regarding this interview as a "knowledge sharing" session.

There were eight interviewees from different universities. In my readings from the other blogs, the maximum interviewees were five candidates. I was the only one who was wearing baju kurung without a blazer and nametag due to unforeseen circumstances (maybe my marks will not be that good in term of personality/attire).

Sharings from the interviewers and topics asked/ discussed.
Code switching between English and Malay during the interview; if you were asked in Malay, kindly answer in Malay and vice versa.
If you were to become a teacher, please:
- focus on polishing each and every student to become an established person in their own unique personalities, not educating in mass.
- be a teacher who is always in progress; who makes a difference. One of the interviewers shared that when you're in service for quite some time, you will feel 'boring' and to avoid that, take courses to improve ourselves personally and professionally. Holidays and working are different (please remember not to focus too much on going holidays overseas. It can be good to release your stress after much works. However, if we can be a teacher who thinks about our students, we can make use the money we have to make small 'sacrifices' to help students): teachers should focus more on students. Sacrifices and passion to teach will mold students' personalities and it will make a difference. (I almost cried during this sharing session of the interviewers' experience as teachers - how sacrifices of teachers help students not only academically but personally as well. The seeds that receive nurturing of ample soil(environment), watering, lights and fertilizers will grow to give back to society by giving out oxygen and fruits/flowers.. well I might exaggerate a little in this gardening part 😆😂.
- How do we know that our Lesson Outcomes (LOs ) are achieved? One of the tips is to ask the low proficiency learners before we end of class.
- What is PPP DG41
- Probation teacher :  issues (stealing, drug abuse & sexual harassment) , how long in probation, what to do in probation : focus on students, motivation, passionate, good attitude, humble, learn from the senior teachers
- ICT usage among Z generation : what are the advantages and disadvantages, how do we make use of the ICT to utilise it in lessons.
-  What uniform unit you want to choose in school?
- What club or society you want to choose?
- There were some application questions of pedagogy. Example of question: You teach 2 Bestari class. There are low proficiency students and high proficiency students- they can't get along and it affects the group work tasks. What would you do?
- Use imagination to teach, creativity. Imagination is free.
In overall, no specific facts (e.g.: list all the national education blueprints) or specific general knowledge were asked. At times we laughed in the interview session too when the interviewer(s) made funny statements. I startled a lot because I couldn't contain my nervousness. My bad
⛄⛄⛄...to be continued

#by tonight before 5.30am tmrw morning need to finish mark 40 papers, the day after tmrw will need to come early to school as that Saturday will be our 'Canteen Day' and as PIC of a stall need to prepare the stall, the next day Sunday need to manage the school Teacher's club family day event, then next week need to again, mark the exam papers of five classes, to finish marking the other exam's marking as well,  invigilate the SPM at other school, need to finish strategic planning, operational and tactical plan for curriculum and HEM unit for 2020, relook at lesson plans, check students' APDM info for next year's data as a homeroom teacher so that some students can get scholarship for parents earning below some numbers, end of year meeting on the last day of school (but then, still have responsibility of invigilating the SPM,so no holiday yet for me until maybe end of November 2019#  these are things a teacher needs  to do #expect a stressful and busy lifestyle when you are a teacher. However, this is for building the nation's assets - STUDENTS 殺❤️ or I personally like to call them little caliphs ☺️爐


Alhamdulillah I passed the interview and got posted to Sabah. Although, my first choice of placement was Putrajaya and second was Kuala Lumpur. My rizqi is in Sabah. It was my first time in Sabah when I first touched the footsteps in KKIA. I've never been here and my first footstep in Sabah is as a teacher. There were no 'warrant' or assemblement of the new teachers from the Peninsular. I went to Sabah with personal financing. On Sunday arrived in Kota Kinabalu. My mother and I met with her schoolmate and resided in Menggatal for one night. The next day we went to SPI first to meet with Ustaz K and afterwards alhamdulillah my mom's friend said that she'd send us to the school with her husband.
I'm currently teaching in an SMKA. My reporting day was 5 February 2018. I went for Program Transformasi Minda (PTM) in July 2019 and still waiting whether I'll be confirmed to the position of DG41. According to an administrator of my school,  before 5 February 2021 I should check the progress of my confirmation. May all affairs end with goodness amin.. my mother always pray that I'll get the confirmation ☺️

May all our affairs end with goodness and I wish a very good luck to all future teachers, especially TESL graduates. Now we are CEFR and PAK21 oriented, so make use of PAK21 in microteaching while in university (eg: traffic light, gallery walk, talking chips etc.). Mastering the PAK21 before the actual teaching in school helps a lot in our classroom management.

Alright, until then. Thanks for reading my humble, small experience as a new teacher. Good luck for all our future endeavours. May all teachers be blessed for all the sacrifices and toils. 爐 Assalamualaikum.

Tips Belanjawan Muslim

January 2
[Nasihat Khalif Samsudin (CEO Bella Ammara) Untuk Belia Bergaji RM3000 Ke Bawah Di Malaysia]
Katakan anda berpendapatan makan gaji anda sebanyak RM3000 sebulan sekarang.
Register now ‪#‎TheFounderTalk2‬ —> http://bit.ly/TheFounder2

How to uninstall Bittorrent toolbar from Google Chrome

I wanted to download online movie(s), and stopped my intention to do so since it happened that I don't know how to use it.

Uninstalling the BitTorrent:

  1. Go to Start
  2. Go to Control Panel
  3. Click Uninstall program
  4. Search for BitTorrent and uninstall it.

Uninstalling the BitTorrent toolbar from Google Chrome:

Since we kind of 'forced' to accept to install the toolbar when we were to install the BitTorrent, we have no idea later how to 'disable' the toolbar. I have tried clicked on the Wrench button to find any settings for disable it but failed. Here what to do.

  1.  At the URL bar of Google Chrome, type 'chrome://extension'. It is considered as an extension that has been installed. Look at the picture below for your further understanding.
  2. Check on a box to 'disable' it temporarily, and click on the dustbin icon to delete the extension permanently.
  3. It's done! ;D

PhoneBoy Explains: IMAP4 vs. POP3 (or: Why You Want IMAP4)

Back in the old days, before dialup Internet access was common, people read their email with Unix-based commands like 'mail.' Once personal computers were able to access networks with TCP/IP, people wanted to be able to read and write email from the comfort of their own PC and not have to use cryptic Unix commands to do so. So a bunch of people got together and hashed out a standard called "Post Office Protocol." While it does a few other things, it's basically designed to download mail from a server (usually Unix-based) onto a personal computer so that a person can use a more intuitive program to read the mail. Most every email program on a personal computer today supports POP3 (or Post Office Protocol, version 3).

If you primarily use one computer to read and write your email from, POP3 works really nice. All your email is stored on your local computer, you can access it and store it as you like. But POP3 works really bad when you use multple sets of computers to read and write email. While I access my email from just about everywhere, there are two primary places I read it: at work and at home. If I were to use POP3 to read my mail, it would "download" all my email to whatever computer I was on at the time. So if I read my email at work and downloaded it all to my computer at work, I would not be able to access that email from home uness I uploaded it back to the server. And if I save a bunch of email at home and want to get at it from work, I can't get at it unless I resend it to myself.

For the very reason of staying in sync, I basically avoid using POP mail clients. To insure I knew where all my email was, I used a Unix shell account and, as necessary, used POP mail clients to download and decode email attachments. But now, thanks to IMAP, I don't have to do that anymore. IMAP stands for "Internet Mail Access Protocol" and is an up and coming standard for mail access. It's not quite as ubiqutous as POP3 is yet, but the current IMAP4 standard is being implemented in many new email products like Netscape Communicator and Microsoft Outlook.

IMAP4 and POP3 are both standards hashed out by the Internet Engineering Task Force, both have their own RFC's (or Request for Comments, which are basically well documented and open Internet-based standards), and they accomplish similar things and work much the same way. IMAP and POP both require a "server" set up that has access to your email. A piece of client software is then configured to access this server. The client and server then "talk," exchanging email as appropriate. These servers are very different, however. You must have a client that supports the protocol and it must be configured correctly. Your ISP should be able to tell you if they support these standards and how you would need to configure your client software to take advantage of it.

IMAP works really well when you use multiple computers to read your email, but even if you only read your email from a single computer, there are two convincing reasons to use IMAP over POP: It will save you time and it's somewhat more secure.

Because POP3 was designed primarily as an "offline" mail reading solution, POP3 clients usually require you to "download" all your email before you read it. IMAP can function this way, but it also works in an "online" and a "disconnected" state. In a disconnected state, you can work with "local" copies of stuff you have downloaded previously. In an online state (usually the default), you access your email directly on the server. You get a listing of messages in each "folder" and download messages only as they are read. You can store your email on the server in "folders" for later retrieval and can easily get at them again. This bandwidth-friendly approach means you only download what you need to and nothing more.

IMAP has an important security feature built into it, which alone makes IMAP worth considering. With POP, your "password" is transmitted in the clear, which means anyone listening on the network can make a note of your password, pretend to be you, and read your mail without you knowing. IMAP implements a sort of "challenge-response" system based on your private password. Your real password is never typed in the clear and the challenge-response is done in such a way that, given the challenge and the response, there is no way to determine what your actual password is. An extension to POP, called Authenticated POP (or APOP), does something similar, but is supported by even fewer email clients than IMAP4 currently is.

Given that not a lot of ISPs are implementing IMAP as of yet, you may not have much choice in the matter as to which standard you can use today. IMAP is still gaining acceptance throughout the Internet community, but when you have the opportunity to use it, you should. The added functionality is quite cool. More information on IMAP can be found on the IMAP server (http://www.imap.org), maintained at the University of Washington. This site includes a more in-depth comparison of POP3 and IMAP, relevant RFC's, and a listing of clients and servers that currently support IMAP.

IMAP vs. POP3?

What is IMAP?
Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) is a standard protocol for accessing e-mail from your local computer. IMAP is a client/server protocol in which e-mail is received and held for you on the servers. You (by using your e-mail client, such as Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger or Eudora) can view just the header information, which includes the sender and subject of the letter, allowing you to decide whether to download the message or not. You can also create and manipulate folders or mailboxes on the server, delete messages, or search for certain parts or an entire note.

What is POP3?
Post Office Protocol 3 (POP3) is also a standard protocol for receiving e-mail and is also a client/server protocol in which e-mail is received and held for you on the servers. With POP3, your mail is saved in a mailbox on the remote server until you check your mail. When you check your mail, all of the mail is immediately downloaded to your computer and is no longer maintained on the server.

What’s the Difference?
IMAP can be thought of as a remote file server, while POP3 can be thought of as a "store-and-forward" service. Ultimately they both accomplish similar tasks but often one will suit your needs better than the other.

What are the Benefits of IMAP?
Since you can view just the header information without downloading the entire message, you can delete large messages without wasting time for downloading them. Also, because the messages remain on the server, you can access your mail from multiple locations and ensure that your messages are always available for you. And, with the messages remaining on the servers if your computer crashes you don’t have to worry about losing your messages.

What are the Benefits of POP3?
Since all of your messages are downloaded immediately, after you check your mail at your computer, you do not need to actually be connected to the Internet to read your email. Also, because the messages are downloaded to your computer you do not need to worry about accruing disk usage charges because the messages do not stay on the servers.

What are the Drawbacks to IMAP?
Unlike POP3, IMAP requires continual access to the server during the time that you are working with your mail. Also, because the messages are stored on the server, it becomes much easier to go over your disk quota. However, you can reduce this risk by taking specific steps to not leave your Sent Mail, Drafts or Trash on the server. And like any new service, there is a slight learning curve to get used to IMAP since most people are used to using POP3.

What are the Drawbacks to POP3?
The major drawback to POP3 is that it is an older protocol that was designed before people were able to easily send large emails with attachments. Because POP3 downloads all the mail on the server at once, people are occasionally unable to successfully receive their messages because POP3 will get stuck or disconnect when trying to download large messages. To fix this people will either need to contact tech support or log onto our web mail system to delete the large messages themselves. Also, if you use POP3 and are traveling or check your mail from multiple locations, you will not be able to view any of your old mail because the messages only exist on the computer on which you originally received your mail.
